"Redeeming Love" is based upon the bestselling novel by Francine Rivers about the endurance of love as a young couple navigates a complicated world during the California Gold Rush of 1850.
Now, if there's one thing about me, it's that I love a good period piece show or movie. Anything set in the past where the actors are clad in intricate wardrobes that had to be thoroughly researched for historical accuracy before they put it on- count me in.
"Redeeming Love" was no exception.
The female love interest in this movie, Angel, is played by Abigail Cowen. You may know her from "The Fosters" or "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina." Angel has a traumatic past and meets her future husband, Michael Hosea (Tom Lewis), while working in a brothel. The two fashion a life together and must navigate their romance while coping with obstacle after obstacles that fate has dealt them.
The film debuts in theaters Jan. 21. For a full review and more in-depth summary of the plot visit Nell Minow's review on Rogerebert.com by clicking the photo above.
