That time of year has fallen upon us once again. New York Fashion Week. It feels like every time I get on my Instagram I see another one of the influencers I follow backstage at some high-class fashion show. I say that with admiration and a slight tinge of jealousy because, yes, I do wish I was doing the same.

As a journalism student with an interest in fashion and lifestyle, I read a lot of fashion publications such as Paper, DAZED, i-D and so on. However, I always feel like those who are super involved in the fashion world always know more than me on any given subject.

I'm not going to let that happen this year. After reading an article on Who What Wear titled "15 Books That Are Crucial

to Your Fashion Education" I feel like I am ready to conquer whatever keyword the next NYFW coverage has to throw at me.

The author of the article, Jessica Schiffer, gives readers a comprehensive list of material to read. The list ranges from the biography of Elsa Schiaparelli, who was once considered "the queen of fashion" to "Women in Clothes" a comprehensive "celebration by women all over the world of how garments we wear every day shape who we are."

Schiffer has definitely given me much to study up on. If you want to do the same, you can start by clicking the image to read her piece in Who What Wear!
