Madeline Albright was the 64th Secretary of State, appointed by President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001. She was the first woman to hold the position and was passionate about the expansion of NATO into Eastern Europe.
Prior to her passing on March 23, 2022, she published several books such as 'Fascism: A Warning' (2018), 'Hell and Other Destinations: A 21st-Century Memoir' (2020) and 'Madam Secretary (2003). Several of these publications are discussed in NPR's interview with Albright originally published in 2003 and 2018.
